I realised on a brisk stroll to yet another enormous shopping centre today that I haven't even given any reasons why I love this country so much. Here are some quick fire reasons why Poland Does it Best:
1. countryside: epic, vast, beautiful, eerie and evocative.
2. food: sausage, vodka, cheese, bigos, pierogi, zurek - who doesn't like that?
3. people: proud, loyal, beautiful, melancholy, poetic and talented
4. history: tragic, fascinating, intertwined with the people and the architecture in a way that leaves a lasting impression
5. weather: well, at least it's real weather, with variations and extremes and proper decent talking points.
6 economy: Poland is, and will continue to be, a major strategic partner to the UK and the leading 'eastern european' country in the EU, with a growing and highly educated, entrepreneurial workforce.
