When I see this my Anglo-Saxon mindset immediately thinks: that's terribly dangerous, someone might slip and then sue. Whereas the Daily Mail in me realises that it's a reasonable solution to the problem of the puddle and people themselves should be responsible for walking on it and falling off it, too.
Judging by the cavernous puddles that are already massing in troublesome formations on Warsaw's ill-treated (and occasionally non existent) pavements whenever it rains, it's going to be a winter of wet feet.
