Dec 5 (PS) — According to Przegląd Sportowy, Polonia Warszawa is to start a partnership with Juventus FC.On Wednesday, Jozef Wojciechowski met with representatives of the Italian club on this issue. This meeting took place in Poznan, where the Juve match was played with KKS Lech Poznan in the UEFA Europa League.
The Polish businessman says, the initiative came from the Old Lady. For now, the first plans were made and the project will shortly enter into force. Wojciechowski has disclosed details of the cooperation to the newspaper already. Polonia wants to introduce a training system in Poland, such as those in the Turin based club. The team will then have five coaches for example: a person who is responsible for all, one for tactics, set pieces, physical preparation, and introduction of players from injury.
The Black Shirts will also be able to count on the strengthening of players who are unable to make it into the Juve first team. The Italians will pay half of their salary. Through the cooperation with Polonia, Juventus would have access to the most talented young players in Poland, and furthermore develop a stronger scouting network in the country. Wojciechowski has stated that he soon will personally travel to Turin to see how Juventus as a club operates day-to-day.
After the conditions last week in their loss against Lech Poznan I am surprised the Juventians want to come back! This sounds an interesting step in the improvement in Polish football and is not something I have heard of clubs doing before (so intimately anyway).
